Programs & Services

All programs and services are free of charge. Transportation is provided for all participants to and from the Agape Center that live within a 5 mile radius.

 

After-School Program for Teens
Goal: To improve the academic performance for youth, provide a safe haven, and educate youth on healthy habits that lead to healthy lifestyles.
Number of youth served: 55 youth between the ages of 11 and 18
Program Schedule: 5 days/week from 4:30 to 6:30. Homework hour is from 4:30 - 5:30 pm.
Locations: The Agape Community Center and Trinity Presbyterian Church
Program Components:

  • Individualized Tutoring and Mentoring
  • Nutrition
  • Athletics
  • Health Education
  • Community Service
  • Social Development

 

After-School Program for Elementary Students @ Trinity Presbyterian Church
Goal: To provide individualized tutoring/mentoring for youth, in order to improve academic performance.
Number of youth served: 25 youth between the ages of 5 and 12
Program Schedule: Monday - Friday from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. Homework is done from 3:30–4:30 pm.
Location: Trinity Presbyterian Church in Building "D"
Program Components:

  • Individualized Tutoring and Mentoring
  • Social Development
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Recreational Activities

 

After-School Program for Elementary Students  (Wednesday Only)
Goal: To provide individualized tutoring/mentoring for youth, in order to improve academic performance. Youth participants attend an after-school program 4 days a week at Hampton Oaks Housing Development.
Number of youth served: 50 youth between the ages of 5 and 12
Program Schedule: Wednesdays from 4:30 – 6:00 pm. Homework is done from 4:30–5:30 pm.
Location: The Agape Community Center
Program Components:

  • Social Development
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Recreational Activities

   

Summer Enrichment Program – GOGIRLGO!
Goal: To get girls active and to educate girls on healthy habits that lead to healthy lifestyles.
Number of youth served: 60 girls between the ages of 9 and 16
Program Schedule: 7 hours a day, 5 days a week for 8 weeks (June - July) 

Location: Trinity Presbyterian Church
Program Components:

  • Sporting Activities
  • GOGIRLGO! National Educational Curriculum
  • Educational and Recreational Field Trips
  • Nutritional Instruction
  • Community Service

 

Summer Enrichment Program – F.I.T. Camp for Boys
Goal: To get boys active and to educate boys on healthy habits that lead to healthy lifestyles.
Number of youth served: 30 boys between the ages of 13 and 15
Program Schedule: 7 hours a day, 5 days a week for 8 weeks (June - July)
Location: Trinity Presbyterian Church
Program Components:

  • Building Confidence Seminars
  • Educational and Recreational Field Trips
  • Nutritional Instruction
  • Community Service

 

RAGTime for Senior Citizens
Goal: To enhance and enrich the lives of the senior citizens and disabled adults in the community.
Number of participants served: 55 seniors and disabled adults
Program Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday from 11:00 – 2:00 pm / Wednesday & Friday 12:00pm -1:00pm
Location: Agape Community Center & Local YMCA
Program Components:

  • Informative Sessions
  • Field Trips
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Bingo
  • Devotionals
  • Physical Fitness Programs in partnership with the Carl Sanders YMCA

 

ESOL (English as a Second or Other Language)
Goal: To teach conversational English to Spanish speaking adults.
Number of participants: 25
Program Schedule: Wednesdays & Fridays at 6:30pm - 8:45pm
Location: Agape Community Center
Program Components:

  • Learn beginning, intermediate and advanced English

 

Ginger Kaney Mentoring Institute
Goal: To assist high school juniors and seniors in developing an individualized career plan before graduating from high school.
Number of participants: TBA
Program Schedule: September - May
