***Providing food at the following programs is a
wonderful volunteer opportunity for all ages.
a)

Meals are provided for the youth participants Monday – Friday (two groups
on Wednesday, teens at Trinity and the elementary students at Agape).
Mealtime is 5:30, and there are approximately 40 children per group. Many volunteers choose to work in a

Students welcome basic foods such as tacos, chicken, sandwiches, chili, lasagna,
salad, etc. Agape provides all plates,
cups, eating utensils and beverages.
b)

the choir.
ESOL
Volunteers
needed to provide childcare at the
Ginger Kaney Mentoring Institute
Volunteers
needed to work with high school juniors and seniors in developing a career plan
after high school. Volunteer hours include a minimum of 4 hours per month. The goal
is to assist in developing and implementing an Individualized Career Plan, prepare
for the SAT, discuss and research skill sets to determine career paths, visit colleges
and universities, assist with college applications, research scholarship opportunities
etc. The student’s parent or guardian
is included in many aspects of this 1 to 2 year process.
Mentors will be trained for this role.
Community Service Projects
Agape is
a wonderful place for families or groups, such as girl scouts and boy scouts, to
do community service projects. Past
projects have included painting murals, building bookshelves, preparing lunch for
youth and/or seniors etc. Any group
or family with an idea for a community service project should contact the Center
to discuss ideas. (See the Wish List
in this document for a list of ideas.)
Corporate Consultant
Agape needs
assistance in developing additional partnerships within the business community. A volunteer consultant would facilitate
partnerships by identification and recommendation of groups that may be interested. Assistance is also needed in obtaining
corporate sponsors for special events.
