Agape Community Center Awarded the 2011 Sue Wieland Award
On Thursday, October 27, the Agape Community Center was presented with the 2011 Sue Wieland Embracing Possibility Award at the Atlanta Women's Foundation's Numbers Too Big to Ignore luncheon.
About Sue Wieland
Sue Wieland supports many Atlanta organizations, but The Atlanta Women’s Foundation has been particularly grateful for her generosity. She believes in giving generously to change the world by empowering women and girls. In 2006, Sue and her husband John made a $1 million gift to the Foundation. That generosity continues to be honored with the annual Sue Wieland Embracing Possibility Award.
The Sue Wieland Embracing Possibility Award is a special grant of $10,000 to an AWF grantee partner organization. The selected organization demonstrates outstanding ability to make significant change in the generational cycle of poverty. This is demonstrated through their ongoing work and a woman or girl the organization sees as a shining example of their program.
